About Me

In the place and time that I grew up, designs were and are still interpreted to be ‘pretty’. And this was my thought of how design should be as well. I consider myself a molded creative by my mother. She taught me to color even before she taught me the ABCs. But then my world of rainbows struck a thunderstorm at 14, I was diagnosed with Staurguardts that degenerated my central vision making me legally blind. The world around me took a flip and there was this constant thought of ‘Will I be able to color tomorrow?’ later it advanced to ‘Will I be able to do things by myself?’

Later down the line, I realized that this is a question that bothers not just me but a lot more just because of the way life around us is designed which focuses just on ‘designing things to be ‘pretty’ most of the time and the actual ‘usability’ is not thought of.

This is when my desire to step into UX took form. I believe that design holds a power that can make the lives of the less fortunate better and help them perform tasks by themselves. My goal as a UX professional is to make sure that the designs will not make such users think they are unfortunate rather I want them to feel taken care of and not be bothered by their disability.
